about whitney
I began my career in 2009 doing in-home, family therapy with youth ages 12-21 at NAFI CT. I began working for DMHAS on the Co-Occurring Treatment Unit, an inpatient psychiatric unit for people who are dually diagnosed in 2015. In 2020, I transferred to an outpatient team, providing therapy, skill building, group therapy and much more!
When I am not working, I like to cook, spend time with close friends and family and binge watching crime shows and Grey's Anatomy. I have recently taken an interest in starting a garden. So, that will be my next venture. Wish me luck!

Hi there! I'm Widelyne Dorelus, a highly dedicated and empathetic counselor with extensive experience working with college age students and young adults.

about widelyne
When I'm not at work, or spending quality time with friends or family, one place you can definitely find me is at the gym! I believe in the importance of maintaining a healthy body and mind, and physical fitness has become a cornerstone of my lifestyle. I enjoy pushing my limits, setting new goals, and celebrating small victories along the way. The gym is not just a place of physical transformation for me, but also a space for mental clarity and personal growth.
If I am trying to wind down, there is nothing quite like diving into a good book. Whether it's an enthralling novel or a thought-provoking non-fiction piece, I find solace and inspiration within the pages. Books have the power to transport us to different worlds, challenge our perspectives, and ignite our imagination. They offer a gateway to endless knowledge and a means of self-reflection.

The transitions in your life have not been the easiest to navigate, and you are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, self esteem issues, family conflict, stress, and more.
“I didn’t think being an adult would be this difficult…I’m juggling so many responsibilities every day, and I feel like I can’t catch a breath…There has to be more to life than just this.”
“I’m not sure college is for me but, if I can’t get through it, I’ll be seen as a failure and let my family down.”
“I just came home after serving 20 years inside; everything is…different, including me.”
“I see my peers advancing in their career, buying real estate, having successful relationships, making six figures. I feel so left behind in life. What am I doing wrong?
“Is there room for me, with my different values, in my family and culture?

We will walk and work together through this therapeutic experience. You will feel seen, safe, heard, and understood as you share your story with me.
